1/2 Moon is a small and super aesthetic spot that looks like it came straight out of a Pinterest board. The color scheme is dominated by deep navy blue tones, creating a cozy yet modern vibe. The space combines industrial kitchen elements with stylish details: tiled tables, metallic surfaces, and a glowing neon sign on the wall set the scene. Overhead, solar panel-style lights float above the room – a smart and striking addition. Behind the open kitchen, Banh Mis hang casually on the wall, adding a playful and authentic street food touch. Outside, there are three small tables for outdoor seating, the perfect setup for a summer lunch in the sun. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you open your camera, one of those spots where you just have to post an Instagram Story.

Menu & Options

The menu is refreshingly simple: just homemade Banh Mi's and Rice Bowls – and honestly, that’s all you need. Everything is made from scratch, and you can really taste the difference. Even with the small menu, there’s always a veggie and a vegan option available for both the Banh Mi's and the Bowls. It’s a thoughtful touch that makes the place feel inclusive without being complicated. To drink, there’s a small but solid selection of soft drinks and Vietnamese coffee – the perfect combo for a casual lunch or quick dinner stop. On a warm day, we would’ve loved the option of a (non-alcoholic) beer to round things off.

Service

The service was warm and genuine. The lady who served us was incredibly kind and gentle. She prepared everything herself right in front of us, which made the whole experience feel even more personal.

Food

We went for the Bulgogi Banh Mi and the Creamy Peanut Rice Bowl (vegan), and both were absolutely delicious. The Banh Mi hit all the right notes: crispy baguette, juicy marinated beef, fresh herbs, and a touch of sauce that tied everything together without overpowering it. The rice bowl came with tender soy strips and a creamy peanut sauce. It was flavourful and satisfying, though the sauce could have been a bit richer and creamier. I could also imagine the bowl working really well with tofu as an alternative, but overall, still a super tasty and fresh option.

Overall

We just paid €21.42 in total – for two dishes and drinks – which makes 1/2 Moon not only delicious but also definitely budget-friendly. It’s a great spot for a relaxed lunch or quick dinner stop. And honestly? The service was the best part: warm, personal, and full of care.
